'The Obsidian Conspiracy' is the seventh studio album by American heavy metal band Nevermore originally released in June 2010.
'The Obsidian Conspiracy' was recorded with renowned producer Peter Wichers (ex-Soilwork). Andy Sneap (Megadeth, Arch Enemy), longtime friend of the band, again provided an impeccable mix and mastering. The cover artwork was created by Travis Smith (Amorphis, Opeth) and perfectly underlines the consistently dark character of the album. Musically, "The Obsidian Conspiracy" is the band's most multi-layered album and impresses with an interplay of catchy melodies, breathtaking technique, goosebump ballads and countless metal anthems for the ages. Guitarist Jeff Loomis shines with powerful riffs and insane solos, while singer Warrel Dane delivers probably the most intense performance of his career.
