Tankard are a thrash metal band from Frankfurt, Germany, formed in 1982. Along with Kreator, Destruction and Sodom, Tankard are often referred to as the "Big Teutonic 4" of German thrash metal. They released their first album in 1986 and have since continued writing and recording the way they started back then: fast thrash metal over beer and alcohol
Tankard's sixth studio album "Two Faced" came out in 1993 and while other bands were experimenting with industrial and nu metal in the nineties, the band stood steadfast and true to their thrash roots. 'Two-Faced' (with its satirical cover) was probably the band's most socio-political work and is a raging beast, setting aside their early humor in favor of biting sounds with attacks against a slipping society. Among other things, this makes this album another jewel in Tankard's crown.
