Known for their memorable riffs, infectious vocal melodies and dueling guitar attack, internationally acclaimed rock quartet Alter Bridge - comprised of Myles Kennedy on vocals/guitars, Mark Tremonti on guitars/vocals, Brian Marshall on bass and Scott Phillips on drums - have garnered themselves massive critical and fan praise around the globe. The band looks to continue that trend as they announce their new, self-titled, eighth studio album, 'Alter Bridge. The album follows 2022’s massively lauded 'Pawns & Kings' (#1 US Hard Music Albums, #2 US Billboard 200 With Hard Rock Genre, #3 US Current Rock Albums).
'Alter Bridge' is comprised of 12 all new tracks from the band and features some of their most iconic moments on record. The band kicks down the door with the opener and single “Silent Divide.” A punchy and pummelling palm-muted riff shifts the tune into high gear, setting the tempo. The hook soars until crash-landing back into the embrace of the core riff as Myles warns, “Remember rage is blind.”
Elsewhere, upbeat riffing volleys across a propulsive drumbeat on “Playing Aces.” The momentum crescendos towards a chantable chorus, “And if I risk it all, I hope you’ll understand that I had to play my hand…Bad luck, be damned!” Meanwhile, “Scales Are Falling” opens with classically-inspired clean guitar, giving way to tense and anxious picking. Myles sets the scene, “This is a tale so dark and dim,” and a hypnotic harmony transfixes above an unpredictable rhythm. “Trust In Me” shows Myles and Mark sharing vocal duties as Myles handles the verse while Mark takes the chorus.
That strategy is flipped on “Tested And Able” as Mark handles the verses and Myles takes on the choruses behind one of the band’s heaviest intros to date, giving way to an unforgettable melody. “Hang By A Thread” is sure to become a show favourite as it hints at some of the most popular songs in the band’s catalog, while album closer “Slave To Master” is an epic track that Alter Bridge has come to be known for and is the longest song the quartet has recorded to date.
The band worked with long time collaborator and producer Michael “Elvis” Baskette on their eighth album. 'Alter Bridge' was recorded over the course of two months in Spring 2025 at the legendary 5150 studio in California and Elvis’ recording studio in Florida. With more than two decades performing together, acclaimed rockers Alter Bridge show no signs of slowing down!
