ArcTanGent Festival 2025: A New Chapter in Experimental Music

Held annually at Fernhill Farm near Bristol, UK, the festival has garnered critical acclaim for its eclectic line-ups and intimate atmosphere.
A Brief History of ArcTanGent
Founded in 2013, ArcTanGent quickly established itself as a haven for enthusiasts of niche music genres. The festival's commitment to showcasing innovative and genre-defying artists has set it apart on the UK festival circuit. Over the years, attendees have been treated to performances by renowned acts such as Mogwai, Meshuggah, and Opeth, among others. Despite challenges, including cancellations in 2020 and 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, ArcTanGent has remained resilient, returning stronger and more vibrant.
ArcTanGent 2025: What to Expect
The upcoming ArcTanGent Festival is scheduled for 14th – 17th August 2025, with early entry available on the 14th. This year's line-up promises to be one of the most exciting yet, featuring a blend of festival debuts, special performances, and unique sets.
Highlights of the 2025 Line-Up
- Karnivool: The Australian progressive metal band will headline the Friday main stage in their first-ever ArcTanGent appearance, marking their only UK live show for 2025.
- Melvins: The legendary Washington-based band is set for a UK festival performance, bringing their influential sound to the ArcTanGent audience.
- Rolo Tomassi: Known for their dynamic and genre-blending music, Rolo Tomassi returns to captivate festival-goers once again.
- Between the Buried and Me: Fans can look forward to two sets from this progressive metal powerhouse, including a full performance of their acclaimed album Colors.
- The Fall of Troy: Celebrating the anniversary of their seminal album Doppelgänger, the band will perform the album in its entirety, offering a nostalgic experience for long-time fans.
- We Lost The Sea: The Australian post-rock band is slated for two sets, one of which will feature a complete rendition of Departure Songs, providing an immersive auditory journey.
In total, 28 bands have been announced in this first wave, with more to be revealed as the festival approaches.
