'Parklife', the most important British pop album of the 1990s, became part of the national consciousness, the English vocabulary, and was the first of five consecutive number one albums by Blur. Produced by Stephen Street, the album continued the lyrical themes of its predecessor, but evolved stylistically with torch-song ballads, instrumental waltzes, disco and edgy new wave. Parklife earned Blur two top ten singles, four Brit Awards, and classic album status.
