While fans are eagerly awaiting the follow-up to Cradle Of Filth's highly acclaimed album 'Existence Is Futile' (2021) the extreme metal legends led by scene icon Dani Filth have answered the calls of their flock of followers and are releasing 'Trouble And Their Double Lives' in 2023, the first live album in over 20 years!
Cradle Of Filth recorded the album between 2014 and 2019 during various shows in the U.S., Europe, Australia as well as their "Cryptoriana World Tour" including subsequent dates. This musical time capsule is full of intense live energy and provides a first-class testimony of an entire era of the band.
Produced, mixed and mastered by Scott Atkins at Grindstone Studios in Suffolk, England, with recording by Danny B, the brand new live attack features not only a number of fan favorites from the Brits' acclaimed discography, but also two bonus tracks and two all-new songs. Classics like "Nymphetamine (Fix)", "The Death of Love" and "Blackest Magick in Practice" meet "She is a Fire" and "Demon Prince Regent".
The latter give a taste of what to expect on future Cradle Of Filth studio albums. "She is a Fire" opens 'Trouble And Their Double Lives' with a dark riff, ominous atmosphere and captivating keys. Dani Filth's bloodcurdling vocals shift between haunting screams and devilish whispers to powerful guitar leads and heavy drums. "Demon Prince Regent" starts with darkest, pitch-black sounds, only to turn into a furious headbanging attack a little later. Dramatic, cinematic symphonic nuances underline this melancholic hymn, which can already claim the title of future classic.
