Three years after their acclaimed album 'Is The Is Are', DIIV are back from the studio in 2019 with a new album.
'Deceiver' is the third album from the rock band from Brooklyn, New York, and the first work without bassist Devin Ruben Perez, from whom they parted ways in 2017.
'Deceiver' is also DIIV's first long-player since frontman Zachary Cole Smith underwent inpatient treatment for his drug use. This important decision also had an influence on the new album, which has become the soundtrack to his "resurrection".
The quartet has already revealed exactly what this sounds like with the singles "Skin Game" and "Taker".
And even after the first listen, it's clear that DIIV's sound in 2019 also strikes the perfect balance between hypnotizing dreampop, grooving krautrock and shoegaze.
