After Pearl Jam ended their seven-year release hiatus in 2020 with the album 'Gigaton', band leader Eddie Vedder's solo comeback album was released in 2022, the first long player from the U.S. singer, songwriter and guitarist in eleven years. 'Earthling' is the name of his third record on his own, the follow-up to 2011's 'Ukulele Songs'.
Production on 'Earthling' was handled by Andrew Watt, a lifelong PJ fan who is now also part of Vedder's new solo band Earthlings, which made its live debut in late September. The group also includes PJ tour member Josh Klinghoffer, multi-instrumentalist Glen Hansard, bassist Pino Palladino and Red Hot Chili Peppers drummer Chad Smith. Recording for the record took place at Watt's studio in Beverly Hills.
