Gruesome's debut 'Savage Land' is an intentional homage to the early death metal scene in Tampa, Florida. But Gruesome is much more than just a tribute band. The band is led by Matt Harvey (former singer and guitarist of the band Exhumed) and also consists of former members of Possessed, Malevolent Creation and Derketa, which makes Gruesome sound as if they had been plucked straight out of 1988.
'Savage Land' is an absolutely first-class and wonderfully dirty piece of old-school metal, recorded by some of the best long-established musicians in the scene.
