With 'Goldstar', New York's Imperial Triumphant take their exploration of the extreme and obscure to the next level and deliver their most focused, authentic and accessible work to date. Having already expanded the language of extreme music with albums such as 'Alphaville' (2021) and 'Spirit Of Ecstasy' (2023) to include musical improvisation and visual extravagance, 'Goldstar' is the triumvirate's most fundamental work. Highly praised by Decibel Magazine (USA) and others, the trio was supported on 'Goldstar' by Meshuggah drummer Thomas Haake and Dave Lombardo, which underlines the fact that Imperial Triumphant are in a class of their own musically.
Album opener "Eye Of Mars", the rousing "Hotel Sphinx" or the death metal banger "Rot Moderne" prove that "Goldstar" is undoubtedly the sound of Imperial Triumphant, honed on extensive tours with Behemoth, Carcass and Zeal & Ardor, among others. In their vision of urban chaos, Imperial Triumphant's monolithic cityscapes are nevertheless as sinister as those of their black metal contemporaries.
