Guitarist Brian Welch has already described it as the hardest and most intense album in a long time.
A total of eleven new songs were recorded by Jonathan Davis (vocals, keyboards), James "Munky" Shaffer (guitar), Brian "Head" Welch (guitar), Reginald "Fieldy" Arvizu (bass) and Ray Luzier (drums) for "The Serenity Of Suffering".
They are supported on the new album by none other than songwriter and producer Dave Katz aka Sluggo and Slipknot singer Corey Taylor. Katz contributed electronic overdubs, Taylor is guest vocalist in the song "A Different World".
Korn recorded 'The Serenity Of Suffering' together with Nick Raskzlinecz. The U.S. producer has previously worked with bands like Deftones, Mastodon and the Foo Fighters.
The artist Ron English was responsible for the artwork of the new album, which - attentive fans have surely already noticed - took up elements of the cover of 'Issues' again.
