Reigning in hell, screaming like a storm, Midnight’s obscenely intense aural display of lust, filth and sleeze ripped the Los Angeles faithful a new one at two sold-out shows on May 28-9, 2026. As part of Midnight’s Satanic Royalty 15th Anniversary World Tour, the incendiary gigs at Hollywood venue Knucklehead were recorded in all their sweaty, filthy glory, resulting in Satanic Attack Live!. Recorded by Mark Borders with mixing/mastering done by Zach Rippy 'Satanic Attack Live!' captures 10 tracks off 2011’s landmark Satanic Royalty LP - live and in the original album running order - plus five additional songs, including “Shock Til Blood”, “T.A.P.” and “Fucking Speed and Darkness.”
“Did I ever think there would be a Midnight live in concert record album? Haha shit naw!” says the band’s aural architect Athenar. “But if you're reading this you are probably holding a copy in your bloody semen/leukorrhea-dripping paws. With the help of D.K. Vagslay, Iron Possessor and about 300 dirt merchant headbanging Hollywood sleazeballs it was possible to concoct such a document of disgust.”
Midnight’s black ‘n’ roll assault Satanic Attack Live! celebrates the live glory of 'Satanic Royalty'’s songs, the 2011 album that launched the first-wave of black metal magick and an exploration of that sound within sleazy soundscapes.
“Please don't expect a glossy ‘strangers in the night’ or ‘live and dangerous’ sound on this recording (although the cover may suggest it!). This is right down the dirty alley of Misfits Evilive, Jerry Lee Lewis Live at the Star Club or any ripping Slayer bootleg from 1985,” states ATHENAR. “If you listen through headphones you can actually hear speed being snorted and cheap beer being spilled then being licked up from the floor by some degenerate. My kinda people! This is as raw as you can get."
“No ‘Unleashed in the Studio’ or ‘Unalive!’ here,” ATHENAR snorts. “All the popcorn tempos, forgotten lyrics and shit notes are there for your taste buds to savor. I would love to hear what kind of live album Steely Dan would record while wearing masks, leather, spikes, bullets and chains in a 100 degree smokey club full of rabid maniacs throwing beer on your wah-wah pedal, knocking microphones into your teeth, clawing at your crotch, headbanging into your headstock and generally doing what they should be doing at a Midnight concert! I wouldn't have it any other way.”
2026 finds Midnight spreading their sordid sound at gigs in Tokyo, Mexico City, Vancouver, Athens, Sao Paulo, across Germany and at two shows in the band’s hometown of Cleveland, Ohio. In addition to a UK and Ireland Tour co-headlining with Voivod, Midnight are wreaking havoc with GWAR on the “Gor Gor Must Die!” Tour, with dates including New York City and DC’s legendary 9:30 Club.
When 'Satanic Royalty' was first released, reviews noted that the band was, “Filthy, belligerent and obnoxious,” and that “Midnight make music to start fights to.” Satanic Royalty was hailed as a “nasty mix of first wave black metal, speed metal, and NWOBHM that will absolutely delight you if booze, denim, leather, and poor life choices are your raison d’être.” Listeners can now bow before those ungodly sounds as they were meant to be heard - live and lascivious - thanks to 'Satanic Attack Live!' a record that asserts its savage dominance in the loudest and lewdest possible way.
