My Chemical Romance took to the stage well over 250 times with their album 'The Black Parade', and anyone who didn't see them must have missed one of the most gripping shows in modern rock music.
For all those who weren't there, or who want to remember the best moments, there is the special CD/DVD live package The Black Parade Is Dead. However, 'The Black Parade Is Dead' is more than "just" a live recording, it shows that My Chemical Romance can master a large arena just as confidently as an intimate club.
The recordings on the CD/DVD are from two concerts: one from the huge Palacio de los Deportes sports arena in Mexico City on September 7, 2007, and the other from Maxwell's Club in their home town of Hoboken, New Jersey, on October 24. But even if the two venues were not comparable, My Chemical Romance delivered what they are known and loved for: a passionate rock show with extreme energy.
The DVD recording was directed by Adam Rothlein, who has previously worked with Green Day, Disturbed, System Of A Down and All-American Rejects. Songs such as 'Welcome to The Black Parade', 'Famous Last Words', 'Teenagers' and lots of material from the debut 'Three Cheers For Revenge' can be seen and heard. The Welcome To The Black Parade tour started on February 22, 2007 and ended in a brilliant finale on May 9, 2008 in New York's Madison Square Garden.
