'Comes a Time' is Neil Young's ninth studio album. His songs are written as moralizing discourses on the failure of love and overcoming worldly problems. They are mostly performed in a quiet folk and country style, with backing harmonies sung by Nicolette Larson and additional accompaniment on some songs by Crazy Horse.
According to Milo Miles of Rolling Stone, the album may have seemed out of place amid the punk rock craze of 1978, but in retrospect it is Young's "most timeless and endearing work, a short but flawless" piece of work.
