Over the course of the last 5 years, TesseracT have not only consistently been at the forefront of an initially burgeoning and now thriving part of the ever-evolving metal scene - they have also taken a stand for freedom of expression and individuality, purposefully swimming against the tide of the often so conservative music world.
Formed by guitarist Acle Kahney in 2003 as a studio project, TesseracT steadily earned a loyal fanbase and a formidable reputation as one of the most invigorating and distinctive bands the UK has produced in decades
in 2012, their status as one of progressive metal's most intriguing new forces was publicly celebrated when they were named "Best New Band" at the Progressive Music Awards in London.
'Altered State' is not simply the second TesseracT album. It is the statement of a band that has always gone its own way and aimed higher. Featuring new vocalist O'Hara, the new material stretches the band's original blueprint to previously unknown limits, adding grandeur and subtlety to their trademark sound without neglecting the hugely important riffs and moments of melodic poignancy.
