Pennywise was founded in 1988 in the South Bay of Los Angeles—a neighborhood with a rich punk rock history. Through their relentless touring and their melodic, high-energy sound—which blends classic punk, surf punk, and hard-hitting hardcore—the band has built an international following. Over the years, Pennywise has cemented its place in punk history with iconic songs like “Fuck Authority,” “Alien,” and “Bro Hymn” (their timeless ode to brotherhood and friends who have passed away).
'About Time' is their third studio album. Paul Henderson’s AllMusic review rates the album 4.5 out of 5 stars and notes: “The band’s fourth release in as many years demonstrates that they function as a fully-fledged unit, spewing fiery hardcore with positive yet also skeptical messages and ideals. While the music and the message remain essentially the same as on their previous releases, both areas gain depth and maturity."
