Released in 1972, 'Argus' is the third studio album by Wishbone Ash and is widely regarded as the band's defining work.
This re-issue faithfully replicates the original UK release in its gatefold sleeve and is pressed on 180g vinyl.
The album built on the group's distinctive twin-lead guitar sound, performed by Andy Powell and Ted Turner and blends progressive rock, hard rock, and folk influences. Several songs explore medieval and mythic themes, contributing to the album's cohesive, almost conceptual atmosphere, although it is not a formal concept album.
Commercially successful in the UK, 'Argus' reached the top three of the UK Albums Chart and remained on the chart for several months and has since been recognised as a landmark release in early 1970s British rock.
Black vinyl pressing.
