Vicious Rumors was founded in 1979 in the San Francisco Bay Area, led by guitarist Geoff Thorpe. Establishing themselves with two classic releases on Shrapnel Records, when the band signed to Atlantic they found further international success, touring with the likes of Savatage, Megadeth and Testament. During this period the band made two videos with director Gore Verbinski, who went on to direct movies including Pirates Of the Caribbean and The Ring. Vicious Rumors continue to record and tour, releasing their 13th studio album in 2020.
