Motor Sister are a hard-hitting American rock band formed by an all-star lineup of seasoned musicians from some of heavy music’s most respected acts. The band features Jim Wilson (Mother Superior) on vocals and guitar, Scott Ian (Anthrax) on guitar, Joey Vera (Armored Saint) on bass, John Tempesta (White Zombie, The Cult) on drums, and Pearl Aday (Pearl) on vocals.
Originally formed as a Mother Superior covers band, Motor Sister began as a passion project fuelled purely by a love of powerful, no-nonsense rock ’n’ roll. Sharing the same frontman as Mother Superior, the band made their live debut at Scott Ian’s private 50th birthday party, where their energy and chemistry quickly caught attention. That performance ultimately led to a deal with Metal Blade Records.
Their debut album Ride (2015) was recorded live in the studio and features a selection of songs drawn from Mother Superior’s catalogue, delivered with raw power, grit, and authenticity. Rather than simply revisiting the past, Motor Sister soon pushed forward creatively, returning with a second album built largely from brand-new material, showcasing their ability to evolve while retaining the heavy grooves, classic rock swagger, and hard-earned experience that define their sound.
