Currents are an American metalcore band formed in Newtown, Connecticut in 2011. Since emerging from the New England metal scene, the band have become one of the leading names in modern metalcore, combining crushing breakdowns, technical precision and emotionally charged songwriting with expansive melodies and atmospheric production.
The current lineup consists of vocalist Brian Wille, guitarists Chris Wiseman and Ryan Castaldi, bassist Christian Pulgarin and drummer Matt Young. Following the departure of founding drummer Jeff Brown in 2018, no original members remain with the band. Together, the current lineup has developed a sound that balances relentless heaviness with introspective lyricism, earning Currents a dedicated global following.
