Taking Back Sunday are an American rock band from Long Island, New York, formed in 1999 by guitarist Eddie Reyes and bassist Jesse Lacey. They are widely recognised as one of the forerunners of the modern emo rock scene, blending emotive lyrics with anthemic guitar hooks and dynamic arrangements.
Over the years, Taking Back Sunday’s lineup has evolved, but the core of the band has consistently delivered emotionally charged music that resonates with fans worldwide. Known for their energetic live shows and heartfelt lyrics, the band balance aggressive guitar work with melodic vocal interplay, creating songs that feel both intimate and anthemic.
The current lineup includes Adam Lazzara on lead vocals, John Nolan on guitar and vocals, and Shaun Cooper on bass. Touring members include Nathen Cogan on guitars, keyboards, and backing vocals, and Mitchell Register on drums. Each member brings both technical skill and emotional depth, contributing to the band’s signature blend of intensity, melody, and raw emotion.
