Satan are an English heavy metal band originating from Newcastle, England, in 1979, and an influential part of the NWOBHM movement, credited for developing a form of proto-thrash and speed metal that influenced the likes of Metallica and Megadeth a few years later.

Reformed in 2011, the band are now signed to Metal Blade Records.
