Shadows Fall are an American metal band from Springfield, Massachusetts, formed in 1995. Emerging as part of the influential New Wave of American Heavy Metal, the band became known for combining the aggression of melodic death metal with the precision of thrash metal and the intensity of metalcore. Their technical musicianship, soaring guitar harmonies, and energetic live performances helped establish them as one of the defining metal acts of the 2000s.
Featuring vocalist Brian Fair alongside guitarists Jonathan Donais and Matt Bachand, bassist Paul Romanko, and drummer Jason Bittner, Shadows Fall built a loyal international following through relentless touring and a string of acclaimed albums.
