Amulet are a British heavy metal band from London, England, formed in 2010. Founded by guitarist Marek "Heathen" Steven and bassist Bill Dozer, with drummer Dave Sherwood and vocalist Jamie Elton joining during the band's early formation and lead guitarist Nippy Blackford later completing the five-piece lineup, the band developed a sound rooted in the golden era of heavy metal and hard rock, combining heavy riffs, soaring guitar leads, pounding drums and catchy vocals with a darker, slightly doomy edge.
Drawing inspiration from classic British metal while maintaining their own riff-heavy approach, Amulet have become known for their traditional songwriting, energetic performances and dedication to the underground heavy metal scene.
The band quickly established themselves within London's underground metal community, releasing their Cut the Crap demo in 2011. The release sold out on cassette before receiving a limited seven-inch vinyl pressing through Mordgrimm Records, helping Amulet gain attention beyond the capital.
Amulet went on to perform alongside established acts including Pagan Altar, Manilla Road and The Sword, as well as appearing at festivals such as Bloodstock, Hell's Pleasure and Muskelrock. Their growing reputation led to a worldwide deal with Century Media Records in 2013.
Their debut album, The First, followed in 2014, showcasing the band's devotion to traditional heavy metal while incorporating elements of hard rock and doom. The album featured powerful riffs, melodic guitar work and a raw, old-school character that placed Amulet firmly within the modern revival of classic British heavy metal.
After further lineup changes, Amulet returned with The Inevitable War in 2019, continuing their commitment to riff-driven heavy metal while introducing a new lineup and further developing their sound.
