Sadus are an American thrash metal band formed in Antioch, California in 1985. They are widely regarded as one of the most extreme and technically advanced bands of the Bay Area thrash scene, known for their blistering speed, complex songwriting, and intense musicianship.
Closely associated with the development of technical thrash and early death metal influences, Sadus have remained a cult favourite among fans of extreme, high-speed metal.
Sadus’ sound is defined by extremely fast riffing, intricate bass work, and chaotic yet precise arrangements. Their music often pushes thrash metal into near-death metal territory in terms of speed and intensity.
The band are especially known for the unique death growl of vocalist Darren Travis, and for bassist Steve DiGiorgio (Death, Testament), whose fretless bass work became highly influential in extreme metal.
