Crossfaith are a Japanese Metalcore band formed in 2006 in Osaka, known for blending aggressive guitar-driven music with electronic production, synth layers, and high-intensity live energy.
Their sound fuses breakdown-heavy metal with Industrial Metal elements and electronicore-style programming, creating a fast, modern hybrid that combines heaviness with digital textures and festival-ready energy. Over time, they’ve become one of Japan’s most internationally recognised heavy acts.
The early origins of Crossfaith trace back to a Nu metal cover project featuring vocalist Kenta Koie, guitarist Kazuki Takemura, and turntablist Terufumi Tamano, performing songs by bands such as Linkin Park and Limp Bizkit. Koie also handled both rap and screaming vocals during this period.
After that project ended, Koie began forming a new, heavier direction. Drummer Tatsuya Amano joined after impressing the group with a cover of Slipknot’s “(sic)”, while Terufumi Tamano returned with a stronger focus on electronic influences inspired by acts such as The Chemical Brothers and The Prodigy.
The band developed with a clear rejection of Japan’s mainstream pop direction, instead focusing on a heavier, more experimental sound that combined guitars, electronics, and industrial textures into a single identity.
These releases chart Crossfaith’s progression from underground beginnings into a globally established act, refining a signature mix of heavy riffs, electronic production, and experimental sound design.
