Exhumed are an American deathgrind band formed in San Jose, California in 1990. Led by guitarist/vocalist Matt Harvey, Exhumed are known for their gruesome horror-inspired aesthetics and a sound that fuses old-school death metal with grindcore intensity.
The band became one of the defining names in the late 90s and early 2000s wave of gore-obsessed extreme metal, often blending surgical precision riffing with chaotic speed and punk-infused aggression.
