Little Feat were formed in Los Angeles in 1969 by lead vocalist and guitarist Lowell George, bassist Roy Estrada (both formerly of The Mothers of Invention), keyboardist Bill Payne, and drummer Richie Hayward. The band quickly built a reputation for their inventive sound and exceptional live performances, merging rock, funk, and Americana influences into a style all their own.
Albums such as Sailin’ Shoes (1972), Dixie Chicken (1973), and Feats Don’t Fail Me Now (1974) are regarded as classics, showcasing the band’s signature mix of funky rhythms, slide guitar, and witty, heartfelt songwriting. Though Lowell George passed away in 1979, Little Feat re-formed in 1987 and have remained active ever since — continuing to release new music and tour to loyal fans around the world.
