Train are an American pop rock band from San Francisco, formed in 1993. Known for blending catchy melodies with thoughtful lyrics, they have consistently delivered music that connects with a broad audience without ever feeling forced or overproduced.

Since 2025, Train’s line-up features Pat Monahan on lead vocals, percussion, and occasional trumpet and saxophone, Jerry Becker on keyboards, rhythm guitar, and backing vocals, Hector Maldonado on bass and backing vocals, Matt Musty on drums and percussion, and Butch Walker on lead guitar and backing vocals. Together, they continue to bring Train’s signature sound to life in the studio and on stage.

The band’s breakthrough came with the album Drops of Jupiter in March 2001, which became Train’s first multi-platinum release. The title track, a radio and chart favourite, helped the album reach number six on the Billboard 200 and secured Top Ten positions in the UK, establishing Train as a global pop rock act.
