End of Green are a German gothic/doom metal band formed in Stuttgart in 1992. Known for their melancholic soundscapes and darkly emotional lyrics, the band have coined their own genre term: “Depressed Subcore”, a fitting description for their heavy yet deeply atmospheric music.
Fronted by Michael Huber (aka Michelle Darkness, vocals, guitar), End of Green deliver a sound that blends gothic metal, doom, alternative rock, and touches of grunge. Their name, which symbolizes “the end of the colour green” – often associated with hope – reflects the bleak, cathartic nature of their music.
Across their career, End of Green have released a series of acclaimed albums including Infinity (1996), Songs for a Dying World (2002), Dead End Dreaming (2005), High Hopes in Low Places (2010), and Void Estate (2017).
