We Came As Romans are an American metalcore band formed in Troy, Michigan in 2005. The group began life under the name This Emergency, founded by high school classmates Sean Zelda, Dave Stephens, Jonny Nabors, Mark Myatt and Joshua Moore. Following several early personnel changes, the band adopted the name We Came As Romans in 2006 after vocalist Larry Clark joined, marking the beginning of their rise within the Michigan metalcore scene.
Known for blending crushing riffs, soaring clean vocals, electronic elements and emotionally driven songwriting, We Came As Romans have become one of the defining acts of modern metalcore, earning a loyal global following through their balance of heaviness and melody.
The current lineup consists of lead vocalist Dave Stephens, guitarists Joshua Moore and Lou Cotton, bassist Andy Glass and drummer David Puckett. Despite personal tragedy and the band's evolution over the years, We Came As Romans have remained true to the uplifting and emotionally resonant sound that has defined their career.
