Black Salvation are a German psychedelic hard rock and doom band formed in 2009 in Leipzig. They have developed a sound built around slow-moving riffs, hypnotic grooves, and a strong sense of atmosphere.
Their music leans heavily on the traditions of psychedelic rock while maintaining the weight and patience associated with doom. Rather than chasing speed or excess, Black Salvation favour immersive compositions that gradually unfold, combining dense guitar work with drifting melodies and a brooding mood. Across their releases, the band have continued to refine this balance between heavy psychedelia and doom-laden rock, producing records that feel expansive yet grounded in classic riff-driven songwriting.
The band was founded by guitarist and vocalist Paul Schlesier, who spent the early years jamming and developing the sound that would define Black Salvation. Their debut full-length album, In Deep Circles, was released in 2014.
The current line-up consists of Paul Schlesier on vocals and guitars, Uno Bruniusson on drums, and Birger Schwidop on bass. Together they continue to shape the band’s blend of heavy psychedelic textures and slow-burning doom influences.
