Divorce are a Nottingham four piece with a sound that refuses to sit still. There is alt country warmth in there, but it is not all twang and sunsets. They mix in indie rock bite, big pop leaning melodies, and the kind of harmony that makes a chorus feel twice as wide. The band have even summed it up themselves as Wilco meets ABBA, which is oddly accurate once you have heard them.
The first big spark was the debut EP Get Mean, which helped kick off a rapid rise and put them firmly on the radar of press and radio alike. From there they have kept building, with more releases, bigger rooms, and a reputation for shows that feel lively and slightly unpredictable in the best way.
If you are new, begin with Get Mean for the early punch, then move onto Drive to Goldenhammer for the fuller picture. It is the kind of band where the songs make more sense the more time you spend with them.
