FesterDecay are a goregrind band from Fukuoka, Fukuoka Prefecture, Japan, delivering a blunt and unfiltered take on extreme music. Rooted in the traditions of goregrind and death metal, their sound is built on distorted riffs, guttural vocals, and an overall sense of controlled chaos that rarely lets up.
Emerging from Japan’s underground scene, FesterDecay focus on the more abrasive end of extreme music, leaning heavily into goregrind’s defining traits. Their material favours short, intense bursts of sound, grim atmosphere, and an unapologetic fixation on gore-themed imagery and subject matter.
The current line-up consists of Ryozy on drums, KK2 handling vocals, Harufumi Nomiyama on guitars, and Gai Maruoka on bass. Together, they deliver a sound that is deliberately raw, tightly executed, and firmly rooted in the genre’s more uncompromising side.
There’s little interest here in refinement or accessibility. Instead, the band commits fully to the genre’s rough and confrontational nature, producing tracks that feel intentionally unpolished — which, in this case, is very much the point.
