Trappist are an American powerviolence band from Los Angeles, California, formed in 2014. Featuring Chris Dodge (Spazz, Infest, Despise You), Phil Vera (Crom, Despise You) and Ryan Harkins (Grill 'Em All, Killed in Action), the band combine d-beat, crust punk, powerviolence, and crossover thrash with an unapologetic love of craft beer. While their lyrical themes are often humorous, the music itself is fast, aggressive, and rooted firmly in the traditions of underground hardcore.
Signed to Relapse Records, Trappist have earned a reputation for delivering blistering, no-frills hardcore packed with razor-sharp riffs, frantic tempos, and tongue-in-cheek references to brewing culture. Their experienced line-up brings together decades of involvement in the American hardcore scene, resulting in music that is both authentic and highly energetic.
Trappist fuse the raw aggression of d-beat, crust punk, powerviolence, and crossover thrash into short, explosive songs inspired by both classic hardcore and modern craft beer culture.
