Marko Hietala is a Finnish musician, vocalist and songwriter recognised for a powerful presence and a voice that carries both weight and character. His work is known for its dramatic delivery and strong sense of identity, whether on stage or in the studio.
He is best known internationally for his long running role in Nightwish, joining the band in 2001 and contributing to some of their most acclaimed releases as bassist, vocalist and composer. After departing in 2021, Marko Hietala shifted focus toward his solo career and other creative projects, continuing to explore music on his own terms.
