Charli XCX is one of the most influential pop artists of the last decade because she treats pop like a playground. She can write huge hooks, then twist the production into something weirder and more forward thinking without losing the melody. It is glossy when it wants to be, but there is always an edge to it.
She started out posting songs online in the late 2000s, then grew through the London club and underground space into a proper chart level career. Along the way she helped pull pop closer to electronic and hyperpop worlds, while still keeping the emotional core front and centre.
If you want the cleanest entry point, try Crash. If you want the sharper, more club driven side, Brat is the obvious one. For a deeper dive, Pop 2 and how i'm feeling now show the more experimental, DIY angled side that a lot of fans swear by.
