Novembre are an Italian gothic metal band with a history rooted in Rome, first forming in 1990 under the name Catacomb. During their early years from 1990 to 1993, the band began shaping a dark, atmospheric sound before re-emerging as Novembre in 1993, a change that marked the true beginning of their long-running career.
From there, Novembre steadily developed a style built on mood, melody, and emotional weight. Their music blends gothic metal, doom, and progressive elements into something deeply immersive — heavy without being overbearing, and sombre without feeling forced or theatrical.
The transition from Catacomb to Novembre allowed the band to refine their songwriting and explore a broader emotional range. Rather than chasing trends, Novembre focused on atmosphere and pacing, creating songs that unfold gradually and reward repeat listens.

Giuseppe Orlando was a key contributor on drums for much of the band’s history, playing an important role in shaping their sound before leaving the band in 2015. Across different eras, Novembre have also worked with various bassists and collaborators, allowing subtle changes in feel while keeping the band’s identity consistent and recognisable.
