As The World Dies are a UK death metal collective with proper pedigree behind them, pulling in members linked to Memoriam and Pemphigoid. The result is heavy and direct, but with enough detail to keep it interesting. The riffs are old school at heart, then they bring in darker atmosphere and synth touches to make it feel bigger and more unsettling.
The band was re-ignited in 2018 and has since put together a tight run of releases that balances stomp and precision. If you like death metal that sounds huge, but still has grit and movement, this lot will do the job.
Agonist is the debut full-length and it sets the tone. Nebula follows it with a wider, more atmospheric edge while keeping the same weight. Both are worth your time if you want UK death metal with a bit of extra menace in the corners.
