Horizon Ignited are a Finnish melodic death metal band from Kouvola, Finland, known for their blend of aggressive riffing, soaring melodies, and emotionally charged songwriting. Since their formation, the band have made a strong impression on the modern metal scene, balancing the brutality of traditional death metal with a polished, melodic sensibility that sets them apart.
Formed in 2017, Horizon Ignited quickly built a reputation for combining melodic death metal’s precision with a distinctly Finnish melancholy and atmosphere. Drawing influences from genre heavyweights like Insomnium, Omnium Gatherum, and Children of Bodom, they’ve created a sound that is both powerful and cinematic — rich in emotion yet unrelenting in heaviness.
The band’s lineup features Okko Solanterä (vocals), Johannes Mäkinen (guitars), Vili Vottonen (guitars), Miska Ek (keyboards), Jukka "Jugi" Haarala (bass), and Jiri Vanhatalo (drums). Together, they deliver a cohesive and dynamic sound that seamlessly fuses melody with ferocity.
