Crippling Alcoholism are a Boston-based band operating in the murkier end of noise rock — where gothic atmosphere, post-punk tension and experimental rock abrasion all bleed together. They’re at their best when the music feels both unsettling and oddly melodic, with a bleak, cinematic streak running through it.
A big part of the appeal is the storytelling. Their releases are built as concept albums, written around difficult characters and situations rather than easy escapism — from With Love From A Padded Room (2024), centred on prisoners in isolation, to Camgirl (2025), which follows a young woman dealing with trauma and dissociation. It’s raw, intense stuff, with lyrics that don’t flinch from mental health, addiction, and wider social rot.
This is an audio-only category for now — we currently stock Crippling Alcoholism on CD and vinyl. As we bring more in, it’ll all live right here.
