AFI are an American rock band from Ukiah, California, formed in 1991. Beginning life as a fast, melodic hardcore punk band, they steadily evolved into one of alternative music's most distinctive acts, incorporating elements of post-hardcore, gothic rock, emo, alternative rock, and new wave.
