Expulsion are a hardcore and grind collective from Los Angeles, California, delivering a caustic collision of grind, punk, and crust. Spawned from the cerebral mind of grind legend Matt Olivo (Repulsion), the band combines relentless blast beats, throat-shredding vocals, buzzsaw riffs, and raw bass tones into a sonic assault designed to leave listeners horrified.
Formed in 2017, Expulsion features members of Repulsion, Exhumed, Phobia, Intronaut, Gruesome, and numerous other extreme acts. Olivo recruited his partner-in-grind, Matt Harvey (Exhumed, Gruesome), over beers in a sweaty Los Angeles apartment to provide his signature vocal ferocity. The lineup was completed by drummer Danny Walker (Intronaut, Exhumed, Phobia) and bassist Menno Verbaten (Lightning Swords of Death), forming a fit-to-burn outfit ready to unleash their apocalyptic sound.
The group channels the classic aggression of ’80s hardcore, grind, and crust, while incorporating modern technicality and precision. Their debut album, Nightmare Future, captures the raw intensity of their live performances, cementing Expulsion as a terrifying new force in extreme underground music.
