The Living Gate are an international Death metal supergroup primarily based in Belgium, with members also located in the United States. Formed in 2020, the band features members from Amenra, Wiegedood, Oathbreaker (Belgium), and Yob (USA), combining their diverse extreme metal backgrounds into a brutal, cohesive sound.
The band’s current line-up consists of Aaron Rieseberg (bass), Wim Sreppoc (drums), Lennart Bossu (guitars), and Levy Seynaeve (guitars, vocals). The Living Gate debuted with the Deathlust EP in 2020, but the global Covid pandemic forced them to cancel tours, leaving the release largely unheard. As Levy Seynaeve notes, “We feel like the EP kind of drowned in the whole Covid situation. So it’s really nice to have a second chance to reintroduce ourselves to the world and on an amazing label like Relapse.”
This “second chance” arrived in 2024 with their debut full-length album, Suffer As One, released via Relapse Records, solidifying the band’s status as one of the most exciting new names in extreme death metal. Their music combines crushing riffs, thunderous drumming, and intense vocal delivery, appealing to fans of heavy, uncompromising metal worldwide.
