True Widow are an atmospheric heavy rock trio from Dallas, Texas, formed in 2007. Known for their hypnotic blend of slow, crushing riffs and dreamy, reverb-soaked melodies, True Widow have developed a distinctive sound which they've coined as “stonegaze” — a fusion of stoner rock and shoegaze ambience.
Led by guitarist and vocalist Dan "D.H." Phillips alongside bassist/vocalist Nicole Estill and drummer Timothy "Slim" Starks, the band create immersive, minimalistic compositions that emphasise mood, repetition, and sonic texture. Their music balances heaviness with ethereal beauty, resulting in a sound that is both meditative and deeply atmospheric.
