Arcadea are an American progressive metal and synth project formed in 2015. Created by members of Mastodon, Arcadea blends synthesizer-driven soundscapes with intricate metal arrangements, delivering music that is simultaneously heavy, futuristic, and hypnotic.
Emerging from the creative offshoots of the metal scene, Arcadea focus on layered synthesizers, tight rhythm sections, and expansive songwriting that draws the listener into an otherworldly sonic environment. Their music is as cerebral as it is powerful, a marriage of technical metal precision and electronic atmospheres.
The band’s original lineup included Brann Dailor on drums and vocals, Core Atoms on guitars, synthesizers, and bass, and Raheem Amlani on bass and synthesizers. The debut album Arcadea showcased their unique approach to progressive metal.
On their follow-up, The Exodus of Gravity, founding members Brann Dailor (lead vocals, drums, percussion) and Core Atoms (primary songwriter, synthesizers, guitars, bass) return, while the album marks the departure of Raheem Amlani and the introduction of keyboardist João Nogueira. This lineup continues to push Arcadea’s sound forward, blending hypnotic synth textures with intricate metal composition.
