The Chisel are an English punk band formed in London in 2020 by vocalist Cal Graham and drummer Nicholas Sarnella (Arms Race). Emerging during a resurgence of interest in Oi!, street punk, and working-class punk traditions, the band quickly established themselves as one of the most exciting new acts in British punk through their explosive live performances, sharp songwriting, and uncompromising attitude.
Drawing inspiration from classic Oi!, hardcore punk, and UK street punk while injecting a distinctly modern energy, The Chisel have become a leading force in contemporary British punk.
The Chisel’s sound combines the singalong choruses and working-class spirit of classic Oi! with the speed, aggression, and urgency of hardcore punk. Their music frequently explores themes of community, identity, frustration, social realities, resilience, and everyday life.
