Metal Church are an American heavy metal band formed in San Francisco in 1980 before relocating to Aberdeen, Washington. They are widely regarded as one of the key bands in the development of American power and thrash-influenced heavy metal during the 1980s.
Known for their aggressive riffing, socially conscious lyrics, and the powerful vocals of early frontman David Wayne, Metal Church helped bridge the gap between traditional heavy metal and emerging thrash metal.
