Born of Osiris emerged from the American metal scene with their progressive metalcore and deathcore sound, forming in Palatine, Illinois in 2003. The band currently consists of drummer and sole remaining founding member Cameron Losch, lead vocalist Ronnie Canizaro, guitarist, keyboardist and former bassist Nick Rossi, guitarist Travis Montgomery and bassist and backing vocalist Dan Marinaro.
Their sound combines intricate guitar work, rapid rhythmic shifts, breakdown-heavy aggression and atmospheric electronic elements, creating a style that balances technical precision with crushing heaviness. Over the years, Born of Osiris have developed a reputation for pushing the boundaries of modern metalcore through ambitious songwriting and progressive influences.
Early releases such as The New Reign (2007) established the band within the underground deathcore scene, showcasing chaotic technical riffing and aggressive vocal delivery. Their breakthrough came with A Higher Place (2009), which expanded their audience and introduced a more polished production style alongside increasingly progressive songwriting.
Albums including The Discovery (2011) and Tomorrow We Die ∆live (2013) further developed their blend of technical metalcore, electronic layering and progressive experimentation. Later releases such as Soul Sphere (2015), The Simulation (2019) and Angel or Alien (2021) continued refining their balance between precision musicianship, melodic atmosphere and relentless heaviness.
