IATT are an American blackened death metal band from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, originally formed in 2008 under the name I Am The Trireme. The band later shortened their name to IATT while evolving toward a more atmospheric and progressive black metal sound.
Known for combining black metal intensity with progressive structure, orchestral arrangements, and philosophical themes, IATT have become a distinctive presence within the modern American extreme metal underground.
IATT’s sound blends melodic and progressive black metal with death metal weight, cinematic atmosphere, and experimental songwriting. Their music frequently incorporates layered orchestration, shifting dynamics, and expansive compositions that move between aggression and introspective atmosphere.
